What to review
- Life: enough to replace income or cover debts if someone depends on you.
- Disability: often overlooked; can replace part of income if you can't work.
- Auto and home: liability and property limits; deductibles you can afford.
- Umbrella: consider if you have assets to protect.
When to review
- After major life changes (marriage, baby, new home, new job).
- Once a year: compare quotes and check discounts (bundling, good driver, etc.).
Before you buy or renew
- Shop 2–3 carriers for comparable coverage.
- Read the policy for exclusions and limits.
- Keep an inventory of belongings for home/renters (photos or list).
